How French Helped Me Get My Canadian PR

Bonjour! 👋 I’m Saloni — a French teacher and TEF Canada coach.
My story with French began quite simply — out of curiosity. I wanted to learn something new, and French just felt so elegant and musical. I had no idea at the time that this language would completely change my life and even help me earn my Canadian PR.

🌱 How It All Began

I completed my B2 level in French in 2017, and the following year, I started teaching French in schools. I taught students the basics of grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation — and honestly, I enjoyed every bit of it. Seeing students slowly start to think in French made me fall in love with teaching even more.

For a few years, I worked as a marketer, and life got busy. Like many of us, French quietly took a back seat.

🎓 Starting Over from A1 for TEF Canada

When I decided to apply for Canadian Permanent Residency, I discovered that the TEF Canada exam could add valuable bonus points to my application. The only problem? I was completely out of touch with French after a long break.

So, I had to start all over again — right from A1. It felt a little intimidating at first, but deep down, I knew I could do it. I went back to the basics, practiced daily, watched French videos, spoke out loud (a lot!), and focused on smart study strategies instead of just memorizing.

Slowly, things started to click again. Step by step, my confidence came back — and eventually, I achieved a C1 level on the TEF Canada exam. That score gave my PR application a major boost and made my dream of moving to Canada possible. 🇨🇦

💡 Why I Teach French Today

That entire experience changed how I look at language learning. It reminded me that anyone — no matter where they start — can learn and succeed with the right mindset and structure.

Since then, I’ve been teaching French to:

- School students who want to excel in academics

- DELF candidates preparing for their exams

- TEF aspirants working toward PR or career goals

- And even learners who study just for fun, just like I did in the beginning!

Teaching gives me the joy of helping others turn their goals into real results — and that’s what keeps me motivated every single day.

❤️ My Goal as a Teacher

French might look challenging at first, but it’s truly one of the most rewarding languages to learn. My goal is to make it feel simple, practical, and enjoyable — whether you’re preparing for an exam, planning to move abroad, or just learning because you love how it sounds.

If French could change my life, it can definitely change yours too. 🌟
